i want to find out befor the devs fix it so i can try to kill the npc

This stems from an old feature of POTCO that was removed due to lag. Before, there would be enemy NPCs manning the cannons of enemy ships, and you could do damage to them from your cannon. Same goes for SvS and other players.

Right, we used to be able to throw grenades and shoot our pistols at them as well iirc.

but it only happens some times..99% of the time the npc is not there : /
