Barbossa Constant Crash (Please Help)

Hey so I'm on a Mac and the game runs pretty good but every single time I get to the Barbossa cut scene where he gives you a gun the game crashes. Ive tried skipping the cutscene, watching the cutscene in full, lowering graphics and sound. It seems nothing works as I've tried to get past this about 10 times now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the work around is to go to the gun shop, buy the flintlock pistol (its free) and then head over to Barbossa. Go do that, and you will get past the cutscene

If that works , I did that and I still carshed at end of cutscene on PC ,Finally got through it at L30 , Don't matter since the 1.4.1 Update removed the Pearl quest entirely ! lol
