Glitch Cant sink ships without crashing

I play on a mac computer on high Sierra. Recently when I go to sink ships for quests especially the Raven's Cove quest I start battling a ship and as soon as I fire at a ship the game crashes and this happens every time i fire at a ship. Some help would be appreciated.

Also running macOS Sierra and having the same issue. Have you found a workaround?

Have you tried turning off the audio?

Yes i have and it still crashes.
