Welcome to Davy McShot's Frequent... Things!
It's like a FAQ but not necessarily all questions. :D
Chances are, your question/problem isn't unique!
I hope this helps some of our new players getting
used to the forums. Also, if you're new, Welcome!

Q1: When will TLOPO be back up (when is the big SvS update coming)?
The official answer is:
There is no set date for when the game will come back up.
However, we assure you that it will not take as long
as the transition from Alpha to Beta.

In the latest Developer Stream,
they mentioned that if everything went perfect,
it would take 2 weeks (from March 4th 2017) (it hasn't even been one yet).

I assume there will be some issues along the way,
so, they also said it would not take nearly as long as the
transition from Alpha to Beta (3 Months) (from March 4th 2017).
So I'd say give it a month but I really think
they will be done within the month of March, just saying.

Migration will take as long as it required for all the data to be in place with the new code. TLOPO exclusives such as beta key digging/looting, Skull Staff need to be incorporated once more along with the server infrastructure that has to be amended to allow more players online at the same time, whereas more districts will be added so that a smoother transition can be ensured.

Q2: Ah! The world is collapsing around me! I can't connect to TLOPO!
Click "OK" if it says you can't connect to gs- blah blah blah blah blah
If that doesn't work:
@divine's 3 Fixes:
- Turning off any VPN/Antivirus that could be interfering with the connection.
- Running launcher as administrator
- Reinstalling the game

If you're game still won't connect after this,
It has been found MOST OF THE TIME,
it's YOUR internet connection!

The ports required to play TLOPO are probably blocked.
If you're using a Public WiFi connection, chances are
THEY ARE DEFINITELY BLOCKED!

Q4: I can't enjoy this game, I'm out, GONE!
"Beta is not meant to be enjoyed. It is for testing. When the game goes live and is complete in its functionality and has stability, THEN you can enjoy it. You, as a Beta tester, should not expect quality right now. Your job is to test. Not enjoy. It is a PRIVILEGE for you to be able to play right now. This has been talked about several times. TLOPO Staff and Forums staff are adamant about not having an official Discord. The Forums are exactly that, Forums, and they DO have a conversation section (if ye don't kn0w). Besides that, there are community-run Discords that large majorities of the community are in, including TLOPO/Forums Staff. I'm pretty much in any Discord that's been posted on the forums. (I searched "Discord" :D).

Glad to get all the positive feedback (I've been receiving most of it directly) but the polls votes too. Thanks everyone glad to hear it's helping you guys and you like the comedy :p
 
Here is a question: Does anyone know when Beta ends? o_o and are our progress saved? O: Was your pirates for Alpha to Beta brought over? Like is this a beta client im playing on? :confused: Another, the old game, there was a membership fee. I am not quite sure but I am basically having the membership privileges at the moment right? Was the old non memberships I feel like it took way longer to level with just killing mobs, seems faster at level 10 was that another feature? Is there still that one event when davy goes on the island to the one inn place to find captain jack sparrow and ya gotta defeat him?

I'm not sure what all your questions are but I can answer a few.


1. THIS IS BETA: This is the Beta stage of testing. All Pirates who were created during the Alpha stages of testing were NOT transferred over to Beta. Any pirate created in Beta though will be preserved and will be transferred when the game fully releases. The Developers have not released a date for when Beta will end.

2. This is a free game there is no membership.


3. I think what your thinking of are Invasions which have not been added to the game yet. Jolly Roger not Davy Jones releases an army of undead waves. After the waves of undead are defeated, Jolly himself comes out and tries to enter the tavern on whatever island your on and will try to find Jack Sparrow. If you beat Jolly Roger you win. If he gets through all the barricades and gets to the tavern you loose.
