Getting back on a sunk boat?

Strange question, but occasionally I'm working with a crew on a ship that gets sunk before porting, and they are able to tp back and complete the port and collect the loot. Have never figured out if there is a way to do this myself if I was alone on my ship when it was sunk.

Allie Kat, all you do is board your ship and port right away. Once you get out of jail repair, board, port.
