Other than "How do I get an alpha key?", the most common questions I see are "How far is the game from being complete? When is open beta? How soon can we play?" These are all valid questions, and I will attempt to answer them here.
How far is the game from being complete?
The best indicator of completeness for the game available to the public are the developer streams. These streams are filmed by Jawhn (a developer). During the streams he shows us the progress that they are making in recreating the game. The game contains many bugs, but the developers are making very good progress and are putting in many hours to get it into working shape.

As you can see, the developers have accomplished mountains of progress when it comes to the features that we love (looting, sailing, guilds, etc.). Now all we have to do is be patient while they make these features playable so that those on the Alpha server can test and refine them.
When is Open Beta?
My answer to this question is I don't know. As soon as the developers are confident in the server and the content it contains, they will let us know. Don't think that they don't want the game to open to everyone as much as everyone else. I've talked with several developers and all of them are looking forward to the day when everyone will get to enjoy the game again.
How soon can we play?
The game is now in semi-open Alpha! This means that you can register without an alpha key and sign up for a time to play!
