It's possible to like us at http://www.facebook.com/thepiratesforums, but that's more just something that was necessary for the setup here.. to really help us out here just click the like button in the sidebar on the homepage.

What's a +1 I know it involves Google but never really understood it

It's the equivalent of a FB like but for Google. It can be tied to Google's competing social network service, Google+.
