did that competition have to do with potbs?
 
WOW was already out and had attracted it's target audience. Disney didn't have much to gain by releasing POTCO prematurely for WOW.

The remaking of the islands was to make memory usage more efficient.

it compatition was pirates of the burning sea and disney the company who really only cares about buisness released the game to early in other words they got rid of ship customization, the kraken, the treasure quests and who knows what else its very sad at what they have done though one would hope they are now planning to do something with all that
