Sea Legs
you know... there is a folk story about a lush tropical island with deep jungles, beautiful waterfalls, rivers, cliffs, and a big wolf shaped mountain. but it's NOT just your average paradise, they say that if you found this place... you're DOOMED to NEVER return to the mainland. sailors and pirates tell a mysterious island that sometimes disappears and reappears across the Caribbean sea every 3 weeks or so when the fog grows thick around it. populated with beasts from the sky, land, and sea. and... something not entirely man nor beast. some call it Animal isle, Noah's hell, the island of wild souls, and most notably... FERAL ISLAND. they say that whoever pirate sets foot on this island is cursed to be slowly transformed into a Half-Human Half-Animal, or Plant, or Bird, or Fish Creature and remain immortal. and there's a map in one of the island's temples, a map of the Caribbean with a wolf symbol indicating the location of the island. these trapped souls, wanting to continue the pirate life, built a big lawless town around the island's main large lake with Taverns, farms, houses, a dock, and a giant wooden warship from the island's resources, with dark green sails. the ship's hulls and decks were painted and decorated with various animals and plants found on the island. body parts, skins, bones, etc, to have the ship be cursed with the island's magic. loaded with cannons and armed with weapons from salvage shipwrecks onshore, the Dark Wild as they named it, sailed away from a huge skull-shaped tunnel entrance that connects the town lake to the ocean, and across the seven seas. the beast pirates sink, plunder, and loot all kinds of boats. trading ships, vessels, sloops, treasure ships, frigates, food, live animal cargo, and even other pirate ships to kidnap some onboard and take them to be cursed by Feral Island. using their animal abilities and frightening appearances as there advantage. if they ever get lost at sea, they can use the magic map from the temple to know where the island has teleported, and if they want to lure ships to there island, they'll put the map into a bottle and throw it out to sea and wait for someone to find it for an unexpected vessel to arrive. no one knows where the island came from or how it came to be, some say that a pirate captain named Nicholas Monarch fell in love with the goddess Artemis but then later betrayed her. Artemis cast an unbreakable spell on him and on the island he was banished on as punishment for monarch and as punishment to other pirates like him, and the more bad deeds these dammed souls commit... the more monsterous and animalistic they become.
