I noticed at about 52:15 one of the devs was surprised that the island names showed up on the island, when they usually only show up when you're out at sea.

This actually used to be a feature of POTCO. Watch this video, around 5:30, you can see that all the island names are in fact visible from land. However, this feature was later removed.

Maybe this could be brought back as a toggle, so players could choose whether or not to see island names from land?

I remember this too, I remember the island names appearing from land
 
I noticed that at 24:12, it said "Level up: Level 4!" but then the rep gain didn't actually happen and level 3 stayed. This seemed to happen with all of the quests. It's a known issue, right?

Also, as far as killing enemies/ships "efficiently", I think he means using proper sword combos instead of rapid clicking, or shooting the weak spots / flaming spots on ships to cause more damage.
