Wind of Luck is a session-based team multiplayer online game dedicated to naval battles of the age of sail warships. It's a unique opportunity to feel like a commander or pirate captain in the midst of a furious seafight offensive!
The game features team vs team battles, which allows you to fight against random opponents, train together with your friends, sharpening various combat skills and exploring various locations. Battles will take place in truly special seascapes which offer not only a good spectacle, but also the tactical challenge of a variety of battle conditions.
There is nothing that can stop you on your way to be a true sea wolf!
The focal point of the Wind of Luck gameplay is a sea battle - dynamic, highly maneuverable, giving the player a wide variety of different tricks and unusual actions. Each ship has its own strengths and weaknesses, and even the light brig has the opportunity to emerge victorious in the battle with the first class line ship. A special model of the ships movement lets player feel the mass of the sailing vessel and, at the same time, it allows maintaining the necessary flexibility for the gameplay and the dynamics of hard fighting.
To start with, you will have one basic vessel of three very different shipbuilding traditions - Caribbean, Mediterranean and East Asian. You will be awarded fame, expertise and piasters after each battle, to have assets for improving your existent ships and acquiring new ones.
Use piasters that you earned to repair your ship and re-supply ammunition, and improve your performance on the battle by mounting various additional weapons and equipment.
Use expertise to upgrade your vessels and unlock special abilities and fame - to unlock new ships. Easy and rich system of ship upgrading and development allows possibility to try out virtually all the vehicles and weapons featured in the game.

It is in our plans to develop the game for Mac and Linux, but unfortunately we can’t name the exact date of when these versions will be released.

New additions and changes Patch 0.8.2.

1. Player’s level: after each battle you will get level points according to the battle results, the levelwould be from 1 to 99. For each tenth level, a new avatar will be available. Your level’s number will bedisplayed in the battle right next to your name. The more victories you get and the more sinks you sunk,the faster your level will grow. When you get to next level, along with it you will get some additional assets (it might be piastres, gold, fame, talent points or equipment). Make sure you check your Arsenal in case if there is something for you.

2. Captain’s talents: along with the level points, you will get talent points which you can use to perfect your skills. There will be 3 branches of talents and you can choose which skills you can perfect in order to become a famous captain.

3. Plunder in the battle: if a ship sunk in the battle, some part of it emerges on the water surfaceand if you make it in time and swim against the ship’s left cargo, you will be able to loot it. When the battle ends, you will receive a report with a chest by clicking on which you will see the list of thingsyou looted: it could be gold, piastres and many other things. The plunder’s value depends on ship’s tierwhich you looted. The more battles you won, the more ships you sunk – the more plunder you will get. No Prey, No Pay!

4. A new game mode introduced in a new map called Cape Horn. There is a flagship in your fleet which needs to be protected from your enemies. Your enemy’s fleet also has a flagship which your fleet has to sink.You will face storm, thunders and bad visibility in this location, remember the enemy’s fleet is dangerous and armed and you would need to show courage and bravery in order to become a winner of this battle.

5. If your shots are nice during the battle and they hit the enemy’s ship, you’ll be able to see number and some small icons that would inform you how much damage you caused and where exactly you hit the enemy ship, whether it was a hull, ship’s crew or sails. Also by clicking Alt key you would be able to seeship’s health bar, two stripes, the upper green bar shows the safety factor, and the lower yellow bar shows the ship’s crew health.

Small fixes made:
• Now you can see the cannon applied to your ship on the shipyard
• Visual bugs fixed in the port’s graphics
• Now you can fold and unfold the ship’s sails on your ship, for that you would need to click W an S keys

Here are new ships that will be added into the game very soon, so in total there will be 90 ships. We're planning to increase the number of ships in future as well.

Impressive looking game. Can I ask how long you've been working on it and how many people?

We're indie developers and this is our first MMO project, we've been working on Wind of Luck: Arena for 2 years now, we have a small studio where we develop and try to realize our ideas, all in all about 15-20 people worked on this project at different times.
