Youtube Background; Help needed (Photoshop)

Well, I want to do a background for my friend on youtube that looks like this one (not the style, only the size) https://www.youtube.com/user/bySqinz/videos?view=0

I want the image on top, just like you saw on the link. I see lots of beginning youtubers with backgrounds where we only see a very small part of it, all around the youtube things. So, I want to know what size I need so it fits there, and also.. On templates, or even speedarts, they let it empty in the middle, just like if it was the youtube page.. Why? The best for me would be someone explaining me everything about making backgrounds..

Blackbearddan, I just found out a few things.. You can not get an image on top (banner) unless you're partnered.
