Tip Why you should level combat skills first.

This thread has a lot of good points...I personally think the right answer lays somewhere in between -- leveling some before you quest will be a lot more efficient than being a jack of all trades. However, letting yourself become level 25 before you even start the Black Pearl quests at least makes the game play in a way that was unintended, and at most can give you issues with getting the XP you need.
 
Personally I wish the town maps were that of pre upgrade in 2008... Smaller and easier to get around. That being said I just level whatever I feel like nothing crazy.. Don't wanna max one thing out because later on I may wanna go back to it and well its maxed so no use in using it to get exp.. Level them all about even keel.
 
Once we are able to finish the black pearl quest it is a good idea to have someone who has mastered their ship and a few people who have mastered their cannons.
