Hacking Discussion

Nothing too specific. Hacking had become a very widespread issue in-game, and it was becoming increasingly clear Disney wasn't going to do anything to address it. Lots of people would argue that more harmless exploits, like changing chat text colors, weren't a big deal, but the prevalence of that attitude contributed to the spread of more malicious hacking as well. The resulting debates would invite a lot of drama to the forums, so we decided not to allow any hacking discussions.

Ah interesting. Thanks for clarifying.

It had hit the point where people were stealing people's accounts, hacking into Webcam while people were playing...it was actually getting pretty disturbing
well people who were stupid enough to give out their info deserved to get their account(s) stolen.

Here we go again ;)

Traditionally, "hacking" meant something along the lines of "tinkering" with computers. The results of this tinkering have brought us lots of advances in technology that we enjoy today. However, the term has taken on a different meaning: exploiting weaknesses in computer security. These exploits can be done for a number of reasons, from pentesting to well-meaning to malicious, and anywhere in between.

Anyways, this thread has run its course so I'm going to go ahead and close it.
